What is the Young Londoners Victim Service?

The Young Londoners’ Victim Service is here to support young people across London who have been affected by crime. If you are under the age of 18 and have experienced or witnessed a crime, or you are a parent or carer looking to support a young person who has experienced or witnessed a crime, you can access the Young Londoners’ Victim Service for free.
Catch22 works with 3 key partners to deliver the Young Londoners’ Victim Service; Advance and London Youth and Kooth.

London Youth deliver the Trusted Youth Allies (TYA) programme, which includes a training curriculum and range of resources for community champions to support young victims of crime across the capital.

Kooth provides mental health and emotional wellbeing  support for young victims of crime in London. 

Young people can access 1:1 live text chat, supportive content and share with peers in a pre-moderated forum.

Advance Charity logo

Advance deliver specialist female-gendered case management support to young women and girls who are victims and witnesses of crime in London. 

 

What is Kooth?

Kooth is a free, safe, and anonymous online platform where young people can access mental health support whenever they need it. Delivered in partnership with Catch 22, Kooth is available to anyone between the ages of 11-18.

Anonymous & Safe

Kooth is safe – it’s a fully moderated platform where you can seek help without anyone knowing who you are. 

Every comment, article and support chat is checked by professionals. 

Trusted

Kooth is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). 

You will receive high-quality, professional care from real people, not robots.

 

Accessible

The service is fully mobile-accessible.

You can use Kooth on the go, at home, or wherever you are. 

Using live text chat is just like sending text messages.

 

What support can I find?

Live text chat & messaging

You can chat with trained counsellors and emotional wellbeing practitioners from 12pm to 10pm on weekdays and until 8pm on weekends. We are open 365 days a year, even on Christmas Day and other public holidays*

Self-Help Activities

Kooth provides a variety of self-help activities that users can engage in at their own pace. These activities are designed to help manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

Informative Articles

The platform hosts a library of articles written by both professionals and peers. These articles cover a wide range of topics relevant to young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Journaling and goal-setting

Kooth offers tools such as journaling and goal-setting to help users track their progress and manage their mental health more effectively.
