Free, anonymous chat & online therapy for young people
Our team of mental health professionals is here to support you. You can talk to us anonymously about whatever’s on your mind.
We offer:
A safe space to talk: the Kooth chat service is a safe space for support accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychology (BACP).
When you use Kooth – whether you’re speaking to a mental health professional, posting on a forum, or writing in your journal – you’ll be totally anonymous. This means that no one on the platform will know who you are. Instead of your real name, you’ll create a username, which is what the Kooth team and other young people will know you by.
Young people on Kooth have told us that staying anonymous helps them feel more comfortable sharing how they feel without worrying about being judged.
If one of our team members is worried about you, they might ask you for personal details so that they can help to keep you safe. But you never have to tell us this information if you don’t want to.
There are two ways to access anonymous 1:1 support on Kooth.
A chat is a real-time conversation between you and a Kooth mental health professional.
A message is a bit more like an email: you send a message to the team, and one of us will get back to you. Message is a good option if you don’t feel like chatting right now, or if it’s outside chat hours.
