Welcome to Kooth and Qwell. We provide free, safe and anonymous mental health and wellbeing support to young people and adults through the NHS.
Kooth is our service for young people, while Qwell is for adults 18+.
You may have been sent a text message by your GP practice offering you free support, so we made this page to help you understand our services and find the right support.
Kooth, and our service for adults, Qwell, are provided in partnership with the NHS. That means they are free to access, and you don’t need a referral from a doctor or anyone else. Plus, there are no waiting lists.
Both services are free, safe and anonymous. There are many different ways to find support, from live text chat with trained professionals to forums where you can safely share your thoughts and concerns. We publish all kinds of content too, from podcasts to articles, activities and self-help tools.
Kooth is available for children and young people between 10-25, while Qwell is available to anyone 18 or over.
Are you between 10 and 25? Could you use some free mental health and wellbeing support?
Are you over 18? Qwell is a safe, welcoming platform for adults to find mental health and wellbeing support.

Understanding our users’ backgrounds helps us check that the services we provide are reaching as many people, from as many backgrounds, as possible. It also helps us signpost you to the right services & support. Historically, some sections of society slip through the cracks of traditional mental health support. We are dedicated to ensuring this doesn’t happen with Kooth, and really appreciate your help.
